  • Clinical Role:

    • Contract Length: 12 weeks
    • Shift Details: Schedule plus Call
    • Schedule: Monday - Friday
    • Work Details: Weekend Call: Every 4th Weekend; Weekday Call: 1 – 2 nights per week
    • Support staff: MA, LPN, PA, CRNP
    • Amount of coverage needed per month: Full Time
    • Patients per day: 18 yrs. +
    • Patient population/age: Adults; No Peds
    • Department description: Outpatient, ED, and Inpatient Cardiology coverage. Echo reading, Performance/Reading of TEEs, EKG and Monitor interpretations, Monitoring stress testing. No clinic appointments will be assigned. Inpatient Consult volume 11-25 per day. Echo reads average 25 per day, including stress testing. Most issues are managed over the phone. E.g., reviewing an EKG which can be sent to the provider’s device.
    • EMR: EPIC
    • Technology in Use: Epic, MUSE, Xcellera for Echos
    • Hospital bed size:
    • Special procedures: TEEs, Stress Testing.
    • Skills required: Echo reading, performance of TEEs and reading the same. Other duties would include supervision of stress testing and hospital consults. The expectation is the on-call Cardiologists need to be available to report to the hospital if required for the treatment of the patient. The frequency of the Cardiologist needing to report is very low.
    • Practice Setting: Hospital
    • Board Certification: BC
    • License required: PA (Open to licensing)
    • DEA: Yes
    • CSR: Yes
    • Certifications required: BLS
    • Minimum experience required: 2 years
