Locum Tenens – Gastroenterologist
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Facilities:

• Location One: 466-bed hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Location Two: 292-bed hospital, Level III Trauma Center

Assignment Overview

• Start - ASAP
• Coverage Type: Call Only
• Call Hours: 24-hour call from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
• Call Includes: GI emergencies, including ERCP and EUS procedures
• Daily Patient Volume: 7-8 new consults per day plus rounding on patients from the previous days
• Support Staff: None required onsite for call
• Must manage true GI emergencies and exercise appropriate judgment—routine scopes/colonoscopies are not expected on weekends
• Fill gaps in the hospital’s current GI call panel (hospital is actively recruiting permanent providers)
• Locums Gastrointestinal Call to include Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP) procedures as needed

Clinical Requirements

• Board Certification: Required in Gastroenterology
• Procedures:
• ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) - open to general GI that does not do ERCP 
• EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound)

Licensing & Credentialing

• State License: Active Virginia license required
• Privileges: Temporary/emergency credentialing may be considered
