Position Overview
High-impact leadership role within the region’s largest healthcare system and Level II Trauma Center, in partnership with Drexel University and a new medical school. The Chief of GI will build and lead an academic gastroenterology division, overseeing clinical care, education, and research.

Preferred: Prior leadership experience (e.g., Chief, Medical Director) or experience starting new programs
Open to candidates with malpractice or licensing history (evaluated on case-by-case basis)
Open to candidates with multiple jobs or commuting distances (with limitations)

- Establish and lead a brand-new academic GI division
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team (faculty, fellows, staff)
- Expand advanced GI services (endoscopy, inpatient, outpatient care)
- Provide hands-on clinical care, including consults and complex GI case management
- Strategically grow the GI service line in collaboration with system leadership
- Drive academic and clinical program development in coordination with Drexel University
- Practice at a Level II Trauma Center with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
- MD or DO with Board Certification in Gastroenterology
- Must currently hold or be eligible for New Jersey medical license
- BLS, ACLS, DEA, CSR/CDS certifications required at start
- Not open to:
