Locum Primary Care Physician (Geriatrics Focus) – San Mateo, California Assignment Overview

• Start Date: ASAP – must be able to start within 4–6 weeks
• Contract Length: 3 months with option to extend (coverage needed while recruiting permanent staff)
• Schedule:
  • 4 days/week
  • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Setting: Outpatient clinic exclusively serving geriatric patients (60+)
• Patient Volume: ~14 patients/day

Patient Demographics

• 100% Medical/Medicaid population
• High-complexity cases; mostly patients in their 80s/90s
• Diverse language backgrounds (bilingual in Spanish highly preferred)
• Extensive support staff (RNs, clinicians, etc.)

Clinical Requirements

• Procedures:
  • Pap smears
  • Basic STD diagnosis
• Experience:
  • 2+ years outpatient experience
  • EPIC proficiency required
  • No hospital experience necessary

Licensure & Certifications

• Active CA License – Required
• DEA & BLS – Required

Board Requirements

• Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine – Required
• Geriatric Board Certified – Preferred but not required
• Board Eligible – May be considered case by case (no inactive/long-out-of-practice candidates)

Additional Notes

• Emergency privileges available
• Clinic is part of a well-supported FQHC system focused on optimizing care for seniors
• Strong interest or background in Geriatrics is essential
