Physician Assistant – General Surgery

Level III Trauma Center | 127 Beds | Surgical First Assist Focus
Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join the Surgical Services team at the largest hospital on the Southern Oregon Coast, serving a catchment area of 320,000+. The role is 95% first assist in surgery and requires prior Ortho PA experience.
Schedule Options:

Four 10-hour shifts or Five 8-hour shifts

Must live locally or be willing to relocate (relocation assistance available)
Key Responsibilities:
-
First assist in surgeries (95% of role)
-
Rotate between General Surgery, Ortho, Urology, and ENT
-
Set up and turnover of OR rooms
-
Perform procedures within scope of practice
-
Maintain sterile technique and work closely with the surgical team
-
No supervising duties
Requirements:
-
2+ years of orthopedic PA experience (post-training) – Required
-
Surgical first assist experience – Required
-
Must meet criteria for Medical Staff or Allied Health Professional privileges
-
Clean malpractice history and NPDB self-query required
-
Must be physically able to meet job demands (lifting, ambulation, etc.)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
