Locums Family Medicine Physician – Carroll, IA (Willing to License)
Assignment Overview

• Start Date: September
• Contract Length: 3 months, likely extension to 6 months
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:30 PM (1-hr lunch)
• Coverage Needed: Full-time
• Setting: Traditional (Clinic + Inpatient)
• Call: 1:3 weekends (24-hr call: Fri 7 PM – Mon 7 AM)
• Call Type: ~50% call, 50% patient-facing

Licensing & Credentialing

• Iowa License: Required (will consider IMLC candidates)
• DEA: Yes
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Willing to License: Yes

Experience Requirements

• Ideal: 3+ years experience
• New Grads: Will be considered
• OB Fellowship: Preferred, not required
• Circumcision Experience: Required

Clinical Details

• Specialty: Family Medicine
• OB Experience: Huge plus (but not mandatory)
• Patients Seen:
  • Adult primary care, some pediatrics, light nursery
  • OB/hospital split approx. 50/50
• Clinic Volume: 15–16 patients/day
• Inpatient Census: 3–7 patients/day
• Procedures: Rounding, admits, newborn care, deliveries, circumcisions
• NICU Level: II (sick babies transferred out)
• Trauma Level: IV
• EMR: Meditech Expanse

Reason for Need

• Interim coverage while recruiting permanent provider
• IM physician being deployed; FP going on maternity leave

Key Notes for Recruiters

• OB experience is very helpful, not a dealbreaker
• Must be comfortable with both inpatient and outpatient care
• No APP supervision required
