- Start Date: Immediate / TBD
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time
- Board Certification: Internal Medicine or Family Practice (required); Geriatrics (preferred)
- State License: Active Massachusetts plenary physician license (required)
- DEA: Required
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year working with frail or elderly populations (required)
- Supervisory experience (required)
- Geriatrics experience or additional qualifications (preferred)
Position Type: Locum Tenens – Medical Director
Population: Individuals aged 55+, certified to need nursing home care but living in the community when possible
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide general medical direction and supervision of participant care
- Oversee Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
- Develop and maintain medical policies, procedures, and protocols
- Supervise Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- Conduct history & physicals on new participants, periodic reassessments, and event-based evaluations
- Develop and manage medical treatment plans
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate participants and families about health maintenance and chronic conditions
- Supervise healthcare and treatment programs developed by the team
- Perform physical exams, order and evaluate labs/diagnostic tests, and document results
- Participate in provider on-call rotation
- Effective physical assessment skills and chronic disease management for frail older adults
- Ability to work in a creative alternate healthcare setting
- Ability to manage changing priorities according to participant needs
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
