Clinical Role
Join a growing outpatient hematology/oncology program with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role. This position focuses on infusion coverage across two campuses while helping build and expand a new service line.

Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Ongoing (Minimum 6 months; potential for permanent placement)


Position Highlights:

  • Balanced practice: 50% hematology / 50% oncology
  • Strong multidisciplinary oncology support

Schedule & Coverage

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Infusion Coverage:
    • Mishawaka campus: 3 days per week
    • Plymouth campus: 2 days per week
  • Evening call coverage required
  • No inpatient rounding (0 hospital patients per day)

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Infusion Center

Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

Patient Volume: ~30 patients per day

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing outpatient hematology and oncology patients
  • Providing infusion center coverage at two campuses
  • Ordering and interpreting labs and imaging
  • Prescribing and managing chemotherapy treatments
  • Participating in tumor board discussions
  • Managing bone marrow transplant patients
  • Coordinating care with nurse oncologists and care teams

Procedures

Required:

  • Management of VAD/CV catheters
  • Bone marrow biopsy

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Blood bank coordination
  • Chemotherapy administration (in collaboration with physician and nurse oncologist)

Support & Technology

Facility Details:

  • New and expanding oncology service line
  • Dual-campus coverage (Plymouth and Mishawaka)

Technology:

  • EMR: Epic

Credentialing Timeline:

  • With Indiana license: ~60 days
  • Without license: ~90 days

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology (AMBS/AOA) – required
  • Competency in both hematology and oncology – required
  • Active Indiana license or IMLC with LOQ – required
  • BLS – required
  • Willingness to commit to a minimum 6-month assignment – required
