Clinical Role
Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology coverage with procedural responsibilities, including endoscopies and colonoscopies. This role offers full 24-hour call coverage in a collaborative hospital and office environment.
Start Date: June 29, 2026
Assignment Length: 13-week coverage

Office Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Procedure Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday
Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Setting: Hospital / Clinic
Patient Population: Adult
Patient Ratios: 1:15–20
Responsibilities Include:
- Assessing and treating adults with a variety of gastroenterological conditions
- Performing upper and lower endoscopies (required)
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds
- Collaborating with anesthesia and support staff during procedures
- Managing inpatient and outpatient care plans
- Contributing to administrative and business decisions within the practice
- Referring patients for surgical intervention when necessary
Support Staff:
- NP: 1
- LPN: 1
- Anesthesia for procedures
Procedures:
- Upper endoscopy – required
- Colonoscopy – required
- Other diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures as indicated
Patient Acuity: Adults acutely ill with diverse gastrointestinal issues

Requirements
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology – required
- Upper and lower endoscopy experience – required
- Active New York state license – required
- AHA BLS and ACLS – required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the last 2 years – required
Organization & Team
- Multidisciplinary gastroenterology team
- Support from NP, LPN, and anesthesia staff
