Clinical Role
Provide perioperative anesthesia care for a wide range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity hospital setting. This locum tenens role requires independent anesthesia management while collaborating with other anesthesia providers and perioperative staff.

Position Highlights:

• 10-12-hour shifts with no call
• Must have full-time availability
• Coverage across multiple surgical specialties including general, orthopedics, trauma, plastics, neurosurgery, pediatrics, endoscopy, NORA, robotic surgery, gynecology, ENT
• Excludes cardiac, OB, and nerve blocks
• Independent perioperative management
• Support provided by anesthesia technicians

Schedule & Coverage

• 12-hour shifts: 6:30AM – 7PM (7AM start on Thursdays)
• 10-hour shifts: 8:30AM – 7PM

  Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Setting: Inpatient / Procedural
Patient Population: Adult and Pediatric
Responsibilities Include:

• Assess, prepare, and manage patients for anesthesia care
• Develop and implement individualized anesthetic plans
• Perform history and physical, obtain informed consent
• Pre-anesthetic evaluation and post-operative assessment
• General anesthesia, regional anesthesia, epidural, spinal, IV regional block
• Monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
• Invasive monitoring and placement (CVP/CVC, pulmonary artery catheterization, intra-arterial lines)
• Airway management

Support & Technology

• Anesthesia techs for equipment turnover
• Other anesthesia providers available for collaboration
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Board Certified NBCRNA – required
• Active Pennsylvania license – required or Compact License Accepted
• ACLS, BLS, PALS – required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in perioperative anesthesia – required
• Trauma Level I experience

Organization & Team

• High-volume surgical center covering multiple specialties
• Collaborative anesthesia team with support staff
• Independent clinical decision-making required
