Ongoing Need:

• Approximately 9 call shifts per month
• 1–2 weekends per month

Licensure and Certification Requirements

• Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS – Required

Facility and Setting

• Trauma Level: Level III
• Beds: 150
• EMR: Epic
• Support Staff: 2 employed orthopedic surgeons + 1 affiliated physician

Clinical Responsibilities

• ED call coverage with admissions and rounding
• Perform bread and butter orthopedic procedures:
  • Total hips (required)
  • Total knees (preferred, not required)
  • Simple fracture management
• Average inpatient census: ~10 orthopedic patients
• Patients per shift: ~6
• Callback typically ranges from 0 to 2–4 hours
