Locums – Springfield, Ohio | NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity

Coverage Dates:

• ASAP – April 13 @ 7:00 AM
• April 20, 2026 @ 7:00 AM – June 1, 2026 @ 7:00 AM
• Ongoing needs through July

Schedule:

• Approximately 10–11 days per month
• Coverage typically begins Friday afternoon through the following week and weekend (ending Sunday evening or Monday morning)

Position Highlights:

• Mix of OR call and ICU/CVICU coverage
• Work directly with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons
• Manageable patient volume
• Opportunity for ongoing coverage
• Surgical NP candidates considered

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Setting: Hospital (OR, ICU, CVICU)

Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

Patient Volume: 5–20 patients per day

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing cardiothoracic surgery support and call coverage
• Rounding on patients in ICU/CVICU settings
• Coordinating patient care with surgical team
• Writing prescriptions and managing treatment plans
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
• Supporting perioperative and postoperative care

Procedures:

• Vein harvesting – required
• Assist in surgery – not required but preferred
• Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit – not required

Support & Technology

Reporting Structure:

• Reports directly to Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons

Technology:

• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified NP or PA – required
• ACLS – required
• COVID vaccination – required
• OR experience – required
• Vein harvesting experience – required
• Cardiothoracic surgery experience – preferred
• Critical care experience may be considered
• No new graduates – required
• Ohio license – preferred (must be able to obtain quickly if not active)
