Locums - Ocala, Florida, Emergency Medicine Opening
Assignment Details
Start Date: June 23, 2026
Contract Length: Ongoing (anticipated 1–2 years)
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Additional Coverage: Two 8-hour shifts available per day
Setting: Emergency Department and affiliated FSEDs
Orientation: Morning of first shadow shift
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide emergency care across a full spectrum of cases
Patient volume:
- FSEDs: ~2 patients per hour
- Main ED: Variable volume
Common cases: - FSEDs: Lower acuity (Level 4/5), vertical patients (~3 at a time)
Perform required procedures including: - Intubation
- Central line placement
- Arterial line placement
- Lumbar puncture
- Cardiac pacing
- Orthopedic stabilization
Document all care in EMR
Call Coverage
No call required
Practice Setting
Level II Trauma Center
Coverage includes main ED and freestanding emergency departments (FSEDs)
APP support varies by shift and time of day
Emergency Medicine residency program and APP training program onsite
EMR: Not specified
Requirements
Board Eligible Emergency Medicine (after accredited residency) – Accepted
OR Family Medicine / Internal Medicine with minimum 2 years ED experience – Accepted
Demonstrated proficiency in emergency procedures – Required
