Position Summary
The IPA Area Medical Director reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and serves as a key leader within the primary care organization. This hybrid role blends outpatient clinical practice, physician leadership, and IPA network management to support high-quality, value-based care (VBC) across affiliated practices.
This position requires residency in Florida (Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, or the Space Coast). The physician will maintain an active clinical practice while also providing leadership oversight, provider engagement, and strategic support for IPA performance and growth.
Leadership Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & IPA Network Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with IPA physician groups and affiliated practices
Align network providers with organizational strategy and value-based care objectives
Lead clinical initiatives focused on quality, utilization, patient experience, and risk adjustment
Provide coaching, education, and performance feedback to clinicians and administrative teams
Conduct regular IPA site visits and facilitate provider meetings and engagement sessions
Represent the organization in IPA forums, community initiatives, and strategic projects
Strategic & Operational Collaboration
Partner with contracting and network teams on provider recruitment, engagement, and retention
Support optimization of performance within value-based care models
Serve as a liaison between IPA partners and organizational leadership to ensure alignment and communication
Seeking a physician board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine
Outpatient only primary care practice
Monday – Friday schedule
Geriatric / Medicare Advantage patient population
Average daily census: 15 patients
Fully supported care team including physicians, NPs/PAs, medical assistants, and care coaches
Focus on patient care, not RVUs or high-volume productivity
Athena EMR
DAX documentation software available
Experience in Value-Based Care (VBC) and primary care required
Required Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida
Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine
Minimum of 5 years of outpatient primary care experience
Demonstrated clinical experience in value-based care, senior health, and primary care delivery
Minimum of 3 years in physician leadership roles with proven impact on clinician performance, culture, and operational collaboration
