Locum-to-Perm - Portsmouth, Virginia, Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant Opening

Start Date: ASAP
Initial Assignment: 6 months
Reason for Coverage: Short-staffed
Minimum Commitment: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Coverage & Setting:

• Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant
• Adult patient population
• 75% inpatient / 25% outpatient
• Hospital privileges required
• Weekend rounding required
• Approximately 5–10 patients seen during rounds

Schedule & Call Requirements:

• Monday–Friday: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Weeknight call: 3:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Weekend call: 24-hour coverage, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Night and weekend call required
• 2-week on / 2-week off rotation

Support & Systems:

• Training provided
• EMR: Epic

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required
• Cardiothoracic training/experience – Required
• Active Virginia license – Required
• Active DEA – Required
• Hospital privileges required
