Locums – Newport News, Virginia, Nurse Practitioner Neonatal Opening

Coverage Dates:

• October 25, 2026

• Future dates available in November and December

Schedule:

• Night shifts only

• Varying shift lengths

• Weekend coverage available

NICU & Patient Volume:

• 22-bed Level III NICU

• Average daily census: 14

• Approximately 2,700 deliveries annually

• Approximately 340 NICU admissions annually

Responsibilities:

• Direct patient care

• Evening backup neonatologist coverage from home

• Attendance at high-risk deliveries

NICU Services & Capabilities:

• Jet ventilators

• High-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV)

• Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO)

• Whole-body cooling

Requirements:

• Board Certified

• Active Virginia state license required

• Current APRN national specialty certification required

• Minimum Master's Degree in Nursing required
