- Candidates must be board certified in General Surgery and Critical Care
- Types of ICU - MSIC, CVIU, CICU
- Must have Fellowship in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care
- Day shift: 7AM - 5PM with night back up calls
- Night shift: 5PM - 7AM (next day) with day back up calls
- Sept 29 - Oct 1 days
- Oct 2- 7 nights
- Oct 9 - 15 days
- Oct 23 - 29 days
- Nov 10 - Nov 26 - days
- Dec 1 - 3 days
- Dec 18 - Jan 1 nights
- Dec 21 - Jan 1 - days
- The day shift is back up call for the night shift occurring immediately after the day shift
- The night shift is back up call for the day shift preceding the night shift (not shift is almost never called in as daytime back up)
- The day team has two surgeons and two APPs. One surgeon and APP cover ICU and trauma, the other surgeon and APP cover floors and emergency general surgery.
- The night team has one surgeon and one APP, who cover the whole service.
- The clinic is on Tuesday and Thursday. It is primarily covered by APPs, with the surgeon seeing a few patients designated as "MD only". These are patients with ongoing wounds or need for future surgeries (e.g., interval appendectomies, cholecystostomy tubes needing future cholecystectomy). The clinic is in our office area which is attached to the hospital.
