Locums –Red Bluff, California, Hematology/Oncology Opening

- Dates of Coverage:
- 7/15 – 8/11
- Schedule: M-Th 7:00 AM-5:30PM with night call then 24hr remote call coverage Fri-Sun
- Oncologist provides outpatient chemotherapy and infusions and is a solo provider
- Site will consider 2 locums to fill this need, locum 1 for first two weeks and locum 2 for next two weeks but one locum for the full four weeks is preferred
- No hospital consults required with low volume remote call
- 15-21 patients Mon-Thurs shared between the MD and NP with 3/4 of appointments going on the MD schedule
- 24/7 each week with around 5 calls per day
- MD can work directly with ER physician or hospitalist, for any admissions
- No oncology inpatient services at local hospital
- Setting: Outpatient clinic
- FTE: 1.0 FTE
- Duties: All aspects of Diagnosis, Staging, Precision Medicine, symptom management, and Treatment of Hematology/ Oncology Patients. MD oversight for both the Oncology/Hematology clinic and Infusion Services. Infusion Center requires MD onsite for all treatments. Infusion Center provides Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Blood/Platelet transfusions, Hormone therapy, Antibiotic Therapy, Rheumatoid Arthritis injections, and Therapeutic Phlebotomies
- Required Procedures: N/A. Bone Marrow Biopsies are referred to outside provider
- EMR: iKnowmed (Clinic) and Cerner (Infusion)
- Support Staff: 1- clinic RN, 2-MAs, 2-front office clerks, 1-quality analyst/billing, and 3 infusions RNs. Currently have a long-term NP who works the M-F 8-5. NP covers any infusions on Fridays and the occasional Friday appt
- Board Certification – Oncology and Hematology preferred. Will consider Board Eligible. can accept providers boarded in Oncology or Hematology.
- Active CA State License – Required
- Residency Requirements/Fellowship – Medical Oncology Fellowship - Required
- Other Certifications – CA DEA, BLS, ACLS – Required
