Locums - Coon Rapids, Minnesota - Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery

Clinical Role:
An outstanding locums opportunity is available for a skilled Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. This Level II Trauma facility offers a robust surgical program with a strong case mix and consistent procedural volume. Priority coverage dates are listed below, with additional needs beyond these weeks.

Priority Coverage Dates:

• March 16–22

• March 30–April 5

• April 20–26

• May 4–10

Schedule Details:

• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• 1:3 call rotation

• Call weeks include day shift coverage, overnight call (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM), and 24-hour weekend call

Facility & Case Mix:

• Trauma Level II

• Predominantly routine cardiac cases (CABGs, valve procedures, etc.)

• Annual Volumes (approximate):

  • CABG/Valve procedures: 250

  • TAVR: 200

  • MitraClip: 100

  • Lead extractions: 35

• Oncology lung cases handled at another facility

• No electrophysiology cases

Procedures Include:

• Aortic aneurysms and dissections

• Atrial fibrillation surgery

• Cardiac valve repair and replacement

• Carotid endarterectomy

• Congenital heart surgery

• Coronary artery bypass grafting

• Minimally invasive esophageal surgery

• Heart failure surgery

• LVAD implantation

• Minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery

• Pacemaker procedures

• Thoracoscopic surgery

• TAVR / Structural heart procedures

Candidate Requirements:

• Proficiency in both Cardiothoracic and Vascular procedures preferred (flexibility considered)

• Active Minnesota license

• IMLC accepted

• Willing to license candidates considered
