Locums – Orthopedic Surgeon
Location: Waterloo & Cedar Falls, Iowa
IMLC Accepted Coverage Dates (Must Cover Both Blocks)
Block 1:

• Wednesday, August 5 at 7:00 AM – Monday, August 10 at 7:00 AM

Block 2:

• Monday, October 26 at 7:00 AM – Friday, November 6 at 7:00 AM
• Strictly on-call coverage
• Inpatient and call coverage only
• No clinic responsibilities
• Weekend coverage required

Practice Setting

• Coverage at two medical centers (Waterloo & Cedar Falls)
• Reason for coverage: Vacation / time off gaps
• Average daily hospital census: 10–20 (combined locations)
• Patient population: All ages
• EMR: Epic Enterprise
• Medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy onsite
• ICU care as needed per unit policy
• Emergency and consultative call coverage required

Group Structure

• 4 Physicians
• 4 Advanced Practice Providers
• No supervision of APPs required
• No outreach
• No telehealth

Clinical Scope

• Full orthopedic surgical and inpatient management
• Trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic bone disease
• Degenerative and acute conditions of spine and extremities
• Hands, feet, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow
• Emergent stabilization and consult services

Credentialing Requirements (Quick Screening)
Board Certification

• Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery – Required

Fellowship

• Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Surgery – Required

State License

• Active Iowa license – Required
  OR
• Active IMLC (LOQ required at name clear) – Accepted

Experience

• Experienced orthopedic surgeon – Required
• Must be able to cover both date blocks – Required
