Outpatient Medical Oncologist
Queens, New York (Near JFK Airport | South Shore)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Outpatient Medical Oncologist to join a multidisciplinary cancer care team in Queens, New York. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based oncology care in an ambulatory setting, with inpatient consult responsibilities as needed. Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with solid tumors and/or hematologic malignancies

Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care

Oversee infusion therapy and monitor treatment response and toxicity

Provide inpatient oncology consultations as needed

Coordinate multidisciplinary care with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and primary care

Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case conferences

Educate patients and families on diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options, and available clinical trials

Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the EMR

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including NYS Department of Health requirements

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to national oncology guidelines (e.g., NCCN)

Optional involvement in clinical research and/or academic teaching
Qualifications
-
MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology
-
Completion of Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship

Eligible for or active New York State medical license

DEA registration
-
Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based medicine

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Prior outpatient oncology experience

Participation in clinical trials or translational research

Academic affiliation or interest in teaching

Bilingual skills (Spanish, Mandarin, or other commonly spoken NYC languages)

Base salary: $400,000–$450,000, plus productivity incentives
