Required

• Virginia Medical License
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Training
• BLS Certification

Preferred

• AIUM Certification
• Cerclage experience

Position Overview

• Specialty: Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Practice Setting: Office and Inpatient
• Reason for Coverage: Recruitment support
• Average Patient Volume: 27 patients per day
• High-Risk Obstetrics: 95%
• Low-Risk Obstetrics: 5%
• Number of Physicians: 1 physician per site
• APP Support: 1 Nurse Practitioner
• No APP supervision required

Facility & Support

• EMR: Epic and ViewPoint
• On-Site Ultrasound Available
• Ultrasound Equipment: GE 10
• Level III Nursery
• Support Staff Includes:
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • RN Clinic Educator
  • Sonographers
  • Genetic Counselor
  • Front Office Team

Coverage Details

• Two-provider MFM service
• Providers rotate between clinic locations in Richmond and Midlothian
• Locations are approximately 30 minutes apart
• Occasional phone-only consults required

Required Clinical Experience

Procedures

• Amniocentesis
• Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
• Cerclage (preferred)

High-Risk Obstetric Conditions

• Pre-Eclampsia
• Multiple Gestation Pregnancies
• Fetal Growth Restriction
• Chromosomal Abnormalities
• Congenital Abnormalities
• Pre-Term Labor
• Hypertension
• Thrombophilia
• Genetic Disorders
• Birth Defects
• Other maternal or fetal co-morbidities resulting in high-risk pregnancy

Delivery Experience

• Vaginal Deliveries
• Cesarean Deliveries
