Practice environment focuses on low to mid-acuity emergency care

Average patient census: 30–40 patients per day

Patient population: generally young and healthy
Practice Setting:

Emergency Department with 11 beds
-
Not designated as a trauma, stroke, or cardiac center
-
Minimal EMS traffic
-
Common presentations include:
-
GI symptoms
-
Gynecologic complaints
-
Pediatric cases
-
Other low to mid-acuity conditions
-

Annual ED admissions: approximately 4–5 patients per day (~13% admission rate)
Staffing and Support:
-
2 Emergency Medicine physicians scheduled daily
-
1 pediatrician onsite during peak hours
-
Standard ED nursing and support staff
-
Labor & Delivery located within the hospital but separate from the ED
Requirements:
-
Active Texas medical license – Required
-
Emergency Medicine residency trained – Required
-
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine – Preferred
-
Non-EM boarded physicians considered if comfortable treating gynecologic and pediatric patients
-
Any level of experience considered
