Locums – Clearwater, Florida, Physician Assistant Neurosurgery Opening

Clinical Role:

Coverage: ASAP – Ongoing Need
Join a highly collaborative neurosurgery team with 4 neurosurgeons and 3 advanced practice providers serving adult patients
Balanced role: 50% inpatient rounding and OR support, 50% outpatient clinic
Call is rotated among PAs with backup from physicians, ensuring shared responsibility and manageable workload
Weekend call is limited (1:4 rotation) and mostly remote (<25% in-person)
Assigned and unassigned patients, providing variety and professional growth
Call response time: 30 minutes
Clinic patients per day: 15–35, allowing meaningful patient interactions
Hospital: 600+ bed facility with a comprehensive certified stroke center, strong neurosurgery support, and advanced surgical resources

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 5pm
Call frequency: ~5–7 days per month

Additional Details:

Desired skills: Brain/Spine experience, First Assist, and basic imaging interpretation
Opportunity to expand procedural experience and collaborate with a high-volume, well-established team

Requirements:

Board Certified – Required
Active Florida License – Required
Minimum 1 year of advanced practice experience in Neurosurgery
