Locums Opportunity – OB/GYN Hospitalist
Location: Christiansburg, Virginia Assignment Availability

• Start Date: July 1, 2026
• Contract Length: 6 Months
• Positions Available: 4
• Coverage Need: 4–8 shifts per month

Schedule

• Shift Type: 24-hour in-house call
• Shifts per Month: Typically 8 shifts
• Consecutive Shifts: Up to 2 consecutive 24-hour shifts allowed

Work Details
Call Coverage Responsibilities

• All OB services on Labor & Delivery
• Unassigned OB/GYN call for the hospital

Clinical Volume

• 70–75 deliveries per month
• 20–25 non-obstetrical surgeries per month
• Active practice environment

Resident Involvement

• Physician will be expected to manage residents

Procedures / Skills

• OB/GYN core procedures
• Minor gynecologic surgery

Practice Setting

• Clinic
• Hospital

Support Staff

• 5 Board-Certified OB/GYNs
• 5 Advanced Clinical Practitioners
• 1 Certified Nurse Midwife

Facility Details

• Hospital Type: 146-bed acute care medical center
• Medical Staff: ~280 physicians across multiple specialties
• Nursery Level: Level II
• EMR: Epic

Credentialing Requirements
Licensure

• Active Virginia Medical License – Required

Board Certification

• Board Certified – American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)

Certifications

• DEA – Required

Preferred Certifications

• EFM
• NRP
• PALS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum: 2–3 years
• Preferred: 5+ years
