Locums – Joplin, Missouri | Hematology/Oncology Opportunity

Clinical Role

Join a well-established oncology team offering a balanced mix of hematology and medical oncology in a supportive, patient-centered environment. This opportunity is ideal for a provider seeking consistent full-time coverage with light call and strong APP support.

Start Date: ASAP
Ongoing Need

Position Highlights:

Full-time coverage preferred (4 weeks per month)
Primarily outpatient-focused with limited inpatient responsibilities
Light call with minimal patient volume
Collaborative team with physician and APP support
Facility open to multiple providers

Schedule & Coverage

Clinic: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Potential for one half-day off during the week
Call includes some weekday evenings and weekend coverage
Call ratio: 1:3
Call type: beeper/phone-based with occasional rounding

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Patient volume: 15–23 patients per clinic day
Night call volume: 1–2 patients
Phone consults: 0–3 per shift

Case Mix:

~60% Medical Oncology
~40% Hematology

Responsibilities Include:

New consults and follow-ups
Managing oncology and hematology patients
Bone marrow biopsy/aspiration (preferred; can accommodate if needed)
Inpatient rounding as needed (hospitalist team handles admissions)

Practice Setting & Support

Team includes:
- 2 full-time physicians
- 2 full-time APPs
Hospitalist team manages admissions
Trauma Level II facility

Technology:

EMR: Epic

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
Fellowship preferred
ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
