Dermatology Locums Opportunity – San Mateo, CA
Availability & Schedule

• Start Date: 06/08/2026
• Contract Length: 6 months (ongoing potential)
• Primary Need:
  • Thursdays preferred (2–3x per month), 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Additional Flexible Coverage Options:
  • Wednesday afternoons
  • Monday mornings and/or afternoons
• Call: Possible (light)
• Additional Option: Remote video consults a few hours per week

Licensure

• California license required
• Must be local to Bay Area / Northern California

Board Status

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology

DEA

• Required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of recent dermatology experience
• Epic experience required

Practice Setting

• Outpatient clinic (primary)
• Occasional inpatient consults (if on call)
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Details

• Specialty: Dermatology
• Patient Volume: ~24 patients per day
• Patient Population: Adults and pediatrics (ages 13+)
• Support Staff: 1 nurse

Scope of Work

• General and complex medical dermatology
• Perform biopsies
• Manage cases beyond teledermatology photo review
• No Mohs procedures

Required Skills

• Medical dermatology (general + complex cases)
• Pediatric dermatology (age 13+)
• Biopsy procedures

Additional Notes

• Preference for local candidates due to limited shift volume
• Flexible, part-time schedule with low frequency
• Opportunity for supplemental income with minimal commitment
• Telederm integration adds variety to case mix
