Locum Tenens – Orthopedic Surgeon (Neuro/Spine)
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (Outpatient Clinic)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Ongoing
Schedule: 3–4 days per month to start, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (very flexible) Key Credentials & Licensing

• Required: NC Medical License, Malpractice Insurance
• Willing to License: Yes (SC license ideal)
• Board Certification: Orthopedic Surgeon (Spine fellowship required, no exceptions)

Clinical & Procedural Details

• Patient Population: Primarily adult, minimal pediatrics
• Visit Volume: ~25–30 patients/day (new patients included)
• Case Mix: 99% non-surgical
• Procedures Performed: Epidurals, facet injections, cortisone injections (provider discretion)
• Imaging: PACS system; C-arm available; no plain film fluoroscopy in-office
• Other Specialists On-Site:
  • Sports medicine physician (Stanford-trained) for shoulder cases
  • Foot & ankle specialist

Practice Expectations:

• Comfortable managing patients with conditions like whiplash
• Will work up patients for potential surgery (surgery not required)
• General orthopedic workups, joint injections, spine evaluations, basic fracture care

Practice & Support

• Setting: Clinic / Private Practice
• Support Staff: PAs, NPs, Physiatrist, Pain Anesthesiologist, RN
• Shifts Needed: ~4 per month
