Locum Pediatric Hospitalist – Newborn (Asheville, NC)

Availability & Schedule

• Dates Needed: Starting April 6th or 10th; additional summer coverage for maternity leave
• Shift Hours: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
• Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, inpatient only
• Deliveries/Circumcisions: Not required
• Patient Volume: 10–18 newborns per shift
• Phone Calls/Rounds: Yes, includes rounds/consults
• Support: RN-staffed unit with in-house neonatologists and Level III NICU support
• Resuscitation: Provider will not be asked to perform newborn resuscitations

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: Board Certified in Pediatrics
• Required: North Carolina Medical License
• Required: North Carolina DEA
• Other: Practice EMR: Cerner

Practice Specifics

• Inpatient newborn care; newborn team supported by Level III NICU
• No PALS/NRP required for the role
• Primarily hospital-based with some phone consults
• Locum coverage for maternity leave with potential for additional dates
