Waldorf, Maryland – Part-Time Psychiatric Medical Director Job

Clinical Role:

• Permanent, part-time opportunity
• Seeking a board certified or truly board eligible psychiatrist
• Client prefers experienced psychiatrists with a background in substance abuse and leadership
• Schedule: 1–3 days on-site per week
• Minimum commitment ~10 hours/week; up to 20–25 hours/week per site
• Flexible structure: one full day/week, two half days/week, or up to three full days/week
• Brand-new facility
• Mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities
• Medical Director duties include:
  • Supervising APPs
  • Signing off on documentation
  • Attending occasional meetings (in-person and virtual)
• Remote work available for documentation and meetings
• Approximately 1+ hour/day of patient care when on site; remainder administrative
• Practice setting includes detox and residential treatment patients
• Oversee psychiatric midlevel providers (APPs) on site
• Total of ~10 APPs across sites (not all full-time; mix of medical and psych)
• Likely transition of detox work to psychiatry team (approx. 50/50 mix)
• If providing direct patient care, documentation is required
• Compensation varies based on schedule and level of involvement
