Locum Tenens – Glens Falls, New York Hematology/Oncology Physician Opening
A well-established physician group in scenic Upstate New York is seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide locum tenens coverage. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-focused environment with a supportive care team.
Assignment Details:
Start Date: June 29th
Assignment: 6 Month Contract with possible extension
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with shared weekend and weeknight call (1:5 rotation)
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Setting: Primarily outpatient; inpatient rounding as needed
Average Census: 10–15 patients per day
EMR: EPIC
Team Composition: 5 oncologists and 5 advanced practice providers
Breast Sub-Specialty Preferred ~ The bulk of the practice is breast cancer
Providers who see breast cases can be considered even without the specialized training
This locum position covers for a physician currently out of the office. The scope of work includes both inpatient and outpatient care.
Outpatient Responsibilities:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Patient mix: new consultations, follow-ups, and treatment visits
Volume: 1–2 new patients per day (approximately 6 per week), 15–20 total patient visits per day
Chemotherapy administered onsite
Radiation oncology services available on site
Inpatient Responsibilities:
Weeknight call: 1:5 rotation, 4:30 PM–8:30 AM (primarily telephone-based; rare in-person consults)
Weekend call: 1:5 rotation, 24-hour coverage (8:30 AM–8:30 AM)
Candidate Requirements:
Board Certified in Hematology and/or Oncology
Active, unrestricted medical license
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Clean professional background
Active BLS, ACLS, and Infection Control certifications
