Position Details

• Clinical Role: Physician (OB/GYN)
• Setting: Hospital (L&D + Postpartum) with potential clinic coverage
• Coverage Type: Urgent locum need
• EMR: Epic

Availability / Schedule

• Coverage Period: May – July 2026 (potential for ongoing)

Specific Dates Needed:

• May: 1–3, 6, 11, 14, 20
  • Clinic Days: May 7, 12, 21, 26
• June: 1, 4, 15, 18, 22, 26–28
• July: 2, 4–5, 20, 24–26, 30

Shift Details:

• 24-hour call: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Clinic Hours (if scheduled): 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Call Requirements: Yes
  • If working clinic, no night call after clinic day

Licenses / Certifications Needed

• Board Certified (ABOG): Required
• Virginia Medical License: Active & Required
• DEA (VA): Active & Required
• CSR (VA): Active & Required
• BLS: Required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Must cover both clinic + call to be considered
• OB/GYN care including:
  • Vaginal deliveries
  • C-sections
  • Suction D&C
  • Ectopic pregnancy management
  • Ovarian torsion
  • Abnormal bleeding cases
• High-risk patients handled by MFM
• Laborist covers unassigned/unreferred patients

• Beds:
  • 9 L&D beds
  • 20 postpartum beds
• Physicians in Practice: 4
• Support Staff:
  • OBHG hospitalist
  • Surgical assistants
  • 3–4 nurses per shift
• Average Nursery Admissions: 2–3/day
• Average Callbacks (24h): <1
