Locums – Lake City, Florida | Emergency Medicine Opportunity
Clinical Role
Join a dynamic emergency medicine team providing coverage at both a main hospital and a freestanding emergency department (FSED). This opportunity offers strong advanced practice provider (APP) support, manageable patient volumes, and the chance to work in a collaborative, high-acuity environment.

Contract Length: 6 Months

- 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM
- 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Position Highlights

Schedule & Coverage
- Shift Length: 12-hour overnight shifts
- Coverage Locations: Main Hospital and Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)
- Reason for Coverage: Ongoing staffing need
Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Setting: Emergency Department (Main Hospital and FSED)
Facility Details:
- Number of Beds: 119 (combined Main and FSED)
- Annual Census:
- Main ED: Approximately 17,200 visits
- FSED: Approximately 7,000 visits
- Daily Admissions: Approximately 30
Patient Population: All ages
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing emergency medical care in a fast-paced environment
- Managing high-acuity patients requiring advanced procedures
- Performing critical care interventions and ventilator management
- Collaborating with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensuring timely and accurate documentation
Procedures Required
- Intubation
- Central line placement
- Chest tube insertion
- Ventilator management
Support & Technology
Support Staff:
- Main ED: Up to 69 hours per day of APP coverage
- FSED: 24 hours per day of APP coverage
Technology:
- EMR: (Not specified – can be added if provided)
Requirements
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine – Preferred
- Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with significant Emergency Medicine experience – Accepted
- Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency – Preferred
- Ability to perform required emergency procedures – Required
- Active Florida medical license – Required (if applicable for submission)
