Availability

• Start: ASAP
• Shift Type: 24-hour in-house
• Schedule: ~4 shifts/month (as needed)

Licensure

• Iowa License: Required

Certifications

• Board Certified in OB/GYN: Required
• Residency Trained (OB/GYN): Required

Experience

• Must be able to cover at least some listed dates
• Experience with:
  • High- and low-risk obstetrics
  • Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
  • OB emergencies and urgent GYN procedures

Facility & Setting

• Birth Center (Inpatient)
• Teaching hospital with residency program (DMU)
• ~500–600 births per year
• EMR: Epic

---

Clinical Responsibilities

• Oversee Labor & Delivery unit
• Triage OB patients
• Perform vaginal and C-section deliveries
• Manage OB emergencies and GYN consults/surgeries
• Support and mentor residents and staff
• Assist with complex surgical cases as needed

Support Staff

• OB/GYN physicians + hospitalist team
• 5 APPs (ARNPs, PAs, midwife)
• 1:1 nursing support
• 24/7 pediatric hospitalists & NICU nurses
• Full ancillary support (pharmacy, imaging, lactation consultants)

Additional Details

• Inpatient only (no outreach or telehealth)
• Teaching opportunities available
