Locums – Pediatric NP/PA | Monroe, NC

Availability

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing (several months)
• Schedule:
  • Night shifts: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM (14 hours)
  • ~10–15 shifts/month (up to 20 possible)

Licensure

• North Carolina License: Required
• Hospital privileges: Required

---

Certifications

• NP or PA Certification: Required
• NP must be Acute Care certified for ages birth–18
  • Acceptable: PNP-AC, CPNP-AC
  • Not accepted: FNP, AGNP, Neonatal NP
• BLS: Required
• PALS: Required

Experience

• Pediatric experience: Preferred
• Must be comfortable with:
  • Inpatient pediatric care
  • Admissions and cross-coverage
  • Overnight hospital setting

---

Practice Setting

• 8-bed pediatric inpatient unit
• On-site Pediatric ED
• Hospital-based setting

---

Clinical Responsibilities

• Admit and manage pediatric patients (per protocols)
• Cross-cover inpatient unit and Hospital-at-Home program
• Provide virtual ED consults to regional sites
• Assist ED team with Code Blue and PRRT events
• Collaborate with physician (available by phone overnight)

Support & Environment

• Physician backup available by phone
• Established protocols and clinical resources
• Dedicated private office space
• Access to call room for overnight shifts

Key Screening Points

• Must have acute care pediatric certification (birth–18) if NP
• NC license required
• Night shift availability required
• Comfortable with independent overnight coverage + remote physician support
