Locums – Neurosurgery NP/PA (First Assist)

Critical Requirements

• Board Certified NP or PA – REQUIRED
• Active Florida (FL) License – REQUIRED
• Neurosurgery OR experience (minimum 2 years as APP) – REQUIRED
• ACLS – REQUIRED
• BLS – REQUIRED
• Cerner EMR experience preferred/required

Coverage Need

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing
• Full-time need: 1 provider (40 hours/week)

Schedule / Coverage Model

• Inpatient rounding + call
• Options:
  • Monday–Friday with weekend call, OR
  • 7 on / 7 off schedule
• Call:
  • Rotating among APP team
  • Approx. 1:4–1:5 weekend call
  • Approx. 1:4–1:5 night call
  • Beeper call
  • Call ratio varies

• 600+ bed hospital
• Level II Adult Trauma Center
• Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• High-volume neurosurgery practice

Clinical Team

• 5 Neurosurgeons
• 4 Advanced Practice Providers
• Adult and pediatric neurosurgery population

Clinical Scope

• Inpatient rounding
• Neurosurgery post-op and inpatient management
• First assist responsibilities in OR
• Trauma and elective neurosurgery cases

Patient Flow

• Assigned and unassigned rounding patients
• High-acuity inpatient neurosurgical service
