Practice Details

Practice Setting

• Clinic/Hospital
• OB/GYN call coverage

Support Staff

• APPs and nursing staff support available
• No supervision responsibilities

Facility Information

• 45 staffed beds
• 20-room Emergency Department
• 4 physicians in practice
• Nursery Level I

Patient & Delivery Volume

• Average deliveries: 1 per day
• C-section rate: 30%
• Nursery admissions: approximately 1 per day
• 1:4 call rotation

Clinical Responsibilities

Obstetrics

• Low-risk pregnancy management
• Routine vaginal deliveries
• Decision-making for C-sections
• Complicated deliveries including:
  • C-sections
  • Breech deliveries
  • Multiple births
  • Abruptions
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations as needed

Fetal Monitoring & Ultrasound

• NST interpretation
• FSE interpretation
• OB ultrasound performance and interpretation:
  • Level I/Screening
  • Level II/Targeted Anatomy

Not Required

• High-risk pregnancy management
• VBACs
• Amniocentesis

Certifications & Requirements

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Board Requirements

• Board Certified OR truly Board Eligible
  • Must be within 1 year of graduation if Board Eligible

Residency Requirement

• ABOG or AOA-accredited OB/GYN residency required

Licensure

• Active Ohio license required
