Locums – Kingsport, Tennessee, Gastroenterology Opening (IMLC Accepted)

Position Details

A facility in Kingsport, Tennessee is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist for ongoing locums coverage. This opportunity includes coverage across Kingsport and Bristol with a collaborative 1:1 APP support model and strong nursing support in both the OR and Endoscopy Suite.

Coverage will include weekday procedural work along with night and weekend call coverage.

Schedule

• Coverage Needed: Weekly coverage for 2 locations – Kingsport and Bristol
• Schedule: Monday 7:00 AM EST – Monday 7:00 AM EST
• Monday–Friday onsite coverage with weekend call
• Provider onsite approximately 8–10 hours per day
• Night call includes beeper coverage
• 24-hour weekend call required
• Rare callback onsite after hours; most after-hours responsibilities are phone consults

Practice Setting

• Working 1:1 with an APP
• Support staff includes OR team and in-house Endoscopy nurses
• Department:
  • Bristol: Endoscopy Suite
  • Kingsport: Main OR / Endoscopy Suite
• May assist with inpatient rounding as needed
• Flexibility around EUS scheduling and procedures
• Blocked endoscopy suite time available

Patient Volume

• Average estimated procedure volume: 7–8 procedures per day
• Average 24-hour call surgical volume: 5–6 procedures
• Consult volume varies
• Bristol bed capacity: 348
• Kingsport bed capacity: 345

Patient Population

• Adults
• Occasional patients younger than 18

Procedures Required

Candidates must be well experienced in:

• General GI procedures
• ERCP (Required)
• EUS scheduling/procedural flexibility available

Equipment used:

• Olympus equipment (additional details available upon request)

Requirements

• Board Certified Gastroenterology
• Active Tennessee license or IMLC required prior to confirmation
• ERCP Required
• ACLS Required
• BLS Required
• TN DEA Required
• CSR preferred
• EPIC experience preferred
• Vaccines required
  • Certain exemptions accepted with appropriate medical documentation
