Call Requirements:
Potentially one weeknight call week and one weekend per month
Phone call coverage only

Ongoing coverage need

Practice Setting:
Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Clinic

Inpatient Responsibilities:
Very infrequent inpatient consults
Hospitalists admit all patients
Physicians primarily provide phone consultation support to hospitalists

Patient Population:
Adults 18 years and older

Patient Volume:
16–20 clinic patients per day

Average Hospital Census:
0–2 patients per day

Appointment Lengths:
15–20 minute follow-up visits
60-minute consults
Scheduling can be adjusted based on provider preference

Job Responsibilities:
New consultations
Follow-up care
Oversight of antineoplastic administration in clinic
General Hematology and Oncology patient management

Support Staff:

2 Advanced Practice Providers
No APP supervision required

Nursing support ratio:
2 nurses per provider
Referral nurses
Triage nurses

Ancillary staff:
Reception
Laboratory staff
Social worker
Referral coordinators
Dietician

Facility Details:

4 exam rooms
Onsite medical imaging
Onsite laboratory
Onsite pharmacy

Services Offered:

Antineoplastic therapy
Phlebotomy services
IV IgG therapy
Iron therapy
Bone marrow biopsies

Requirements:

Board Certified Hematology & Oncology – Required
Will consider Board Certified Oncology physicians with strong Hematology/Oncology experience – Required
Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (LOQ required) – Required
Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology – Required
Must be available full-time Monday–Thursday – Required
Experienced candidates highly preferred
New graduates will be considered
Clean malpractice and background history – Required
