Locums - Minneapolis, Minnesota, Medical Oncologist Float Pool Opening (IMLC Accepted)

Schedule Details:
Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Call coverage is one week at a time and is flexible.
Call schedule:
- Monday 8:00 AM through the following Monday 8:00 AM
- Overnight call from home
- Medical Oncology-specific calls only
Nurse triage services and hospitalists are available, resulting in minimal overnight call volume.
Practice Setting:
Hospital Inpatient Service
Outpatient coverage opportunities may also be available.
Patient Population:
Adults
Patient Volume:
20–25 patients per day
Role Expectations:
- Lead the Medical Oncology team
- Supervise Advanced Practice Providers
- Evaluate and manage inpatient oncology patients
- Perform all new inpatient consultations
- Manage malignant oncology and hematology cases
- Provide inpatient and outpatient coverage as needed
Coverage Expectations:
Inpatient Service:
- Same-day documentation required
Outpatient Service:
- Same-day documentation required
- Maximum of 3 outpatient clinic days
- Coverage includes both Hematology and Medical Oncology patients
- Typical schedule is 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No call required with outpatient coverage, though optional call assistance may be available
Support Staff:
- 1 APP Monday–Friday
- 1 APP on weekends for rounding support
- APP support allocated based on service volume and patient needs
Skills Required:
- Medical Oncology
- Inpatient malignant oncology management
- Hematology consultation experience
- Comfortable managing a broad range of hematologic disorders and oncology diagnoses
Special Procedures:
Management of malignant and benign oncology conditions
EMR:
EPIC
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Oncology and Hematology – Required
- Active Minnesota License or IMLC – Required
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required
- DEA – Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience – Required
- EPIC Experience – Required
