Availability Needed

  • Preference for one provider to cover the entire assignment
  • Will consider splitting coverage between two providers
  • Strong preference for providers who can commit to at least two consecutive weeks

Schedule

  • Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Night Call: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (Beeper Call)
  • Weekend Call: 24-hour beeper call (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)

Required Licenses & Certifications

Licensure

  • Active Montana License required or
  • Eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)

Board Certification

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible required

Certifications

  • BLS required

Practice Overview

  • Pathology coverage supporting a local pathology team
  • Provider will work primarily at a medical center in Missoula
  • Credentialing and privileges required at both affiliated facilities
  • Pathologist Assistants available for support
  • Cerner EMR
  • Overtime must be approved in advance

Patient Volume & Case Mix

  • Up to 30 cases per day
  • Primarily diagnostic pathology cases

Call Details

  • Call Type: Beeper
  • Call Ratio: 6:1
  • Required Response Time: 20 minutes

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret diagnostic pathology cases
  • Collaborate with pathology support staff and Pathologist Assistants
  • Provide weekday pathology coverage
  • Participate in night and weekend beeper call coverage
  • Maintain timely response requirements while on call

Ideal Candidate

  • Board-certified or board-eligible Pathologist
  • Active Montana license or eligible through IMLC
  • Comfortable managing a diagnostic pathology workload of up to 30 cases per day
  • Available for at least two consecutive weeks, with preference for longer-term coverage through the assignment end date
  • Able to meet 20-minute call response requirements during assigned call periods
