Practice Overview

• Inpatient consult service within an adult psychiatric unit
• Focus is strictly on medical management and consultation
• No behavioral health treatment responsibilities
• 20-bed unit
• Cerner EMR
• On-site coverage only

Clinical Responsibilities

• Medical consults for adult inpatient psychiatric patients
• Evaluation and treatment of common medical conditions, including:
  • Sore throats
  • Rashes
  • Diabetes management
  • Medication consultations
  • Other general medical concerns
• Emergency Department coverage as needed
• Inpatient rounding
• Coordination of care with the treatment team

Support Staff

• Mid-level provider support
• Social workers
• Nursing staff

Patient Volume

• Approximately 10 patients per shift

---

Ideal Candidate

• Board-certified Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner with an active Massachusetts license
• Comfortable providing inpatient medical consults in a psychiatric hospital setting
• Experienced with adult medicine, inpatient rounding, and medical management of chronic and acute conditions
• Available for full-time, on-site coverage following credentialing
• Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team without behavioral health treatment responsibilities
