Schedule
12:00 PM - 10:00 PM shifts
Scheduled shifts only
No call required
Coverage needed 7 days per week

Orientation
One-day onsite orientation required prior to the first scheduled Emergency Department shift

Practice Setting
Hospital-based Emergency Department
Inpatient and Outpatient care
Reason for coverage: Time off, vacations, and scheduling needs

Patient Volume
Average of 36 patients per day
Approximately 3 admissions per shift

Patient Population
Must be able to treat patients of all ages

Support Staff
Emergency Medicine Physicians
Emergency Department Registered Nurses

Facility Information
Trauma Level III

Common Procedures
Nail trephination
Simple and complex suturing
Staple placement
Epistaxis management (cautery and Rhino Rocket)
Tick removal
Foreign body removal (ear and eye)
Incision and drainage of abscesses
Digital nerve blocks
Skin tear repair
Dental blocks
Intraocular pressure (IOP) checks
Fluorescein staining of the eye
Finger and other joint reductions
Orthoglass splint application
Bursa aspiration

Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required
Active Michigan license required
Active Michigan DEA required
Active BLS certification required
Ability to treat patients of all ages required

Credentialing
Approximately 30 days, or as quickly as the provider submits all required documentation
Temporary privileges available
