Availability / Schedule
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Shift Type: 24-hour in-house call coverage
- Schedule Pattern: Weekends only
- Shift Hours: Saturday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM (24-hour shifts)
- Coverage Need: Approximately 24-hour shifts per month

Clinical Overview
- Pediatric ICU coverage (medical, surgical, neuro)
- Level II and III NICU exposure
- Average patient volume: 11
- Mixed acuity: critical care, trauma, post-op, and medical emergencies
- Strong subspecialty support including radiology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, gastroenterology, urology, hematology/oncology, psychiatry, and surgical services
- 24/7 access to OR, imaging (CT/MRI), and laboratory services
Core Procedures / Skills Required
- Ventilator management
- Central and arterial line placement
- Chest tube insertion
- ICP evaluation
- Diagnostic taps
- Blood product transfusions
- Management of cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, sepsis, renal failure, poisoning
- Trauma care (blunt and penetrating injuries, fractures, dislocations)
- Post-operative surgical management

- Point-of-care ultrasound available
- 24-hour lab with rapid turnaround
- Resident support: 2–3 pediatric/ED residents during rounds, 1 resident overnight
Licensure Requirements
- State License: South Carolina required
- DEA: Required
- CSR: Not required
- Willing to license: No
Certifications Required
- Board Certification: Pediatric Critical Care required
- BLS: Required
- ACLS: Required
- PALS: Required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year Pediatric Critical Care or equivalent ICU experience
- Must be comfortable managing high-acuity pediatric ICU patients with overnight autonomy supported by residents
