Locums – Longview, Washington | GI Hospitalist Job

Clinical Role
Join an established Gastroenterology hospitalist team providing inpatient and ACU-based GI coverage in a 136-bed hospital setting. This role includes both scheduled daytime coverage and intermittent 24-hour call responsibilities in a collaborative, multi-provider environment.

Assignment Details
Start Date: 8/3/2026
Duration: Through 12/31/2026 (current approval)
FTE: 0.5
Setting: Inpatient + Clinic privileges
Call: Required (scheduled as needed)
Shifts: Day, Night, Weekend rotation

Position Highlights
Scheduled weekday ACU coverage with additional call shifts as needed
24-hour call coverage (unrestricted) when assigned
No ERCP required
Collaborative GI group with hospitalist and APP support
Flexible scheduling based on provider availability and PTO coverage needs

Schedule & Coverage
ACU Coverage: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (9-hour shifts)

Call Coverage (as scheduled):

• 24-hour call: 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM
• Weekday night call
• Weekend 24-hour call
• Call includes consults, rounding, ACU procedures, and add-on cases

Schedule is variable and built around internal coverage gaps and PTO needs

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Facility: 136-bed hospital
Patient Population: Adults
Average Census: 12–14 patients per day

Responsibilities include:

• Inpatient GI consultations
• Daily rounding and admissions
• Standard endoscopy procedures (no ERCP required)
• ACU coverage and consult management
• Participation in call coverage when scheduled
• Coordination with hospitalists and APPs

Support & Technology
EMR: EPIC
Team Structure:

• 3 GI providers
• Hospitalist team
• 2 Advanced Practice Providers
• Collaborative inpatient support model

Requirements
Board Certified Gastroenterology – Required
Active Washington State license – Required (No IMLC accepted)
BLS and ACLS – Required (AHA or Red Cross)
Comfortable with inpatient GI consults and endoscopy procedures

Organization & Team
Well-established GI service line within a 136-bed hospital
Shared coverage model with multiple GI physicians and APP support
Integrated inpatient and ACU workflow
Flexible locums utilization for PTO and coverage gaps
