This ongoing locums opportunity offers hospital-based practice in a high-volume stroke center with strong multidisciplinary support.

- Flexible scheduling based on provider availability
Schedule:
- 24-hour call coverage blocks
- Shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
- Continuous call coverage with callback responsibilities

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Practice Setting:
- Hospital-based
- Stroke-focused neurointerventional service
Stroke Program Volume:
- Approximately 1,000 stroke patients annually
- Approximately 165 thrombectomy procedures annually
Coverage Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour thrombectomy call coverage
- Perform emergent mechanical thrombectomy procedures
- Respond to acute stroke alerts
- Manage urgent callback cases
- Provide inpatient neurovascular intervention services
- Collaborate closely with neurology and interventional radiology teams
- Deliver timely, evidence-based stroke care
Services Provided:
- Mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke
- Image-guided vascular interventions
- Acute stroke response and management
- Neurovascular emergency procedures
- Inpatient neurovascular interventions
Support & Technology
Neurology Team:
- Nine neurologists on staff
Support Staff:
- Dedicated interventional radiology team supporting thrombectomy procedures and call coverage
EMR System:
- Epic
Requirements
- Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology or Interventional Neuroradiology/Neurology – Required
- Must be able to independently perform mechanical thrombectomies – Required
- Active Iowa medical license – Required, or
- Active IMLC with Letter of Qualification (LOQ) available at time of name clear – Required
- Experience providing emergency stroke intervention coverage – Required
