Primary Care Physician Opportunity – Sacramento, California
Outpatient Only | 4-Day Workweek | No Call or Weekends | FQHC Setting
Position Overview:
Join a mission-driven, multi-location FQHC on the east side of Sacramento offering comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. This permanent, outpatient-only role is ideal for a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician looking for exceptional work-life balance and meaningful community impact.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call: None
Weekends: None
Setting: Outpatient only | Federally Qualified Health Center / Community Health Clinic
Patient Volume & Workflow:
Approximately 25–27 patients per 10-hour shift
20-minute appointment slots (3 patients per hour model)
Includes 2 telehealth visits per day
Administrative time built into the schedule at the end of the day
Providers realistically average approximately 2.2 patients per hour accounting for no-shows
No double-booking
Scope: See all ages or adults only — your choice
Care Team: Collaborate with physicians, NPs, PAs, behavioral health, and dental professionals in a fully integrated care model
EMR: Epic (highly preferred experience)
Candidate Requirements:
Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
FQHC or community health outpatient clinic experience preferred
Comfortable practicing in a 3 patients per hour model
Ability to complete charts within 72 hours required
Confidence and proficiency managing in-basket responsibilities including patient messages, medication refills, and lab results
Experience utilizing translation services is helpful (more than 48% of patients speak a language other than English)
Must be COVID-19 vaccinated
