Position Overview

A large, well-established multispecialty group in the Bronx is seeking an experienced Pulmonary Physician Assistant to join its pulmonary medicine team. This is a permanent position with a collaborative practice model, supporting pulmonologists in the evaluation and management of patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions in outpatient and, when applicable, inpatient settings.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories and physical examinations, for pulmonary conditions such as asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep-related breathing disorders

  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies, including chest imaging, pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, and sleep studies

  • Manage chronic respiratory diseases in collaboration with supervising pulmonologists

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, inhaler technique, and lifestyle modifications

  • Assist with or perform pulmonary procedures, as credentialed, including thoracentesis, pleural catheter management, and bronchoscopy support

  • Provide inpatient consults, daily rounding, and discharge planning when applicable

  • Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice and state licensure

  • Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, nursing, and ancillary services

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow-up planning

  • Document all encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR

Practice Setting & Schedule

  • Multispecialty group practice

  • Outpatient clinic with potential inpatient responsibilities

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Multiple practice locations throughout the Bronx

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant

  • Post-training pulmonary experience required

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in pulmonary medicine

  • Procedural experience preferred (based on training and credentialing)

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus, not required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $115,000–$130,000 annually
