The Orthopedic Surgeon provides comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including surgical and non-surgical management. The role involves diagnosis, treatment planning, performing surgeries, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose orthopedic conditions via physical exams, medical history, and imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT).
- Develop individualized treatment plans (surgical and non-surgical).
- Perform orthopedic surgeries (joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, etc.).
- Collaborate with primary care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation specialists.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Stay current on evidence-based practices and advancements in orthopedic surgery.
- Participate in professional development and continuing education.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards.
- Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Residency: Completed orthopedic surgery residency program
- Board Certification: Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Licensure:
- Valid Vermont medical license
- Valid Vermont DEA license
- Certifications: CPR for Healthcare Providers
- Proficiency in modern orthopedic surgical techniques
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Commitment to patient safety and professional development
- $300,000 – $360,000 annually
- Final compensation based on experience, education, and market competitiveness
