Required Licensure & Certification

• AP Board Certified – Required
• Active New York State License – Required
• Cytology Proficiency Exam (GYN Cytology) – Required

Setting

• Hospital-Based Pathology Lab
• Trauma Level III
• EMR: EPIC/Beaker
• Laboratory Certifications: CLIA, NYS

Required Procedures

• Surgical Pathology
• Cytology
• Frozen Section Analysis
• Must gross own specimens
• Must cut own frozen sections on cryostat

Volume

• ~13,000 surgical specimens annually
• ~3,000 cytology specimens annually

Group & Support Staff

• 4 Physicians in Group
• 5 Histotechnologists
• 1 Pathology Assistant
• 2 Cytotechnologists
• Other Pathologists Present During Coverage: Yes
• Supervision of Other Providers Required: No

Equipment

• ThinPrep Integrated Imager (Hologic)
• Cryostats: Avantik QS12UV, Avantik QS II
• Microscopes: Nikon Eclipse E400, Olympus BX41
• Method of Preparation: ThinPrep
